A birdman from planet Avian, Stratos arrived in Eternia for unknown reasons, tired and amnesic, and was captured by the tribe of Karashev to be executed. He was rescued by Adam, Duncan and Teela and became their ally. He is a kind and gentile man, but will reveal himself to be very talented and gifted also.

In the original series, Avian was a mountain in Eternia, were the birdmen lived, and they were able to fly using Jet-packs. In "Grayskull", Stratos flies through magical ability.
